Why do we care what the devs do in their free time? Including making dumb comments on social media? If the game is good, then I will buy it. I could care less what they do, as long as they don't project their political views and/or personal opinions into the game in an unsightly way. If you are a game dev trying to promote "x" political view or opinion, make a game where that is the main focus. Otherwise, keep it out of your games. If you do that, I have literally zero problems with you. I don't know them personally, and I don't have to. At the same time, people in general also need to learn how to intelligently separate a creator from their specific works. Do you see any embedded political philosophies in Factorio (other than "committing genoc!de is 100% okay")? Because I definitely don't, not without performing some truly astonishing mental gymnastics. The point being that you shouldn't boycott a game you like just because one of the devs made a comment that gives you the ick. That's certainly your prerogative, and it's your money, but it doesn't make you seem any less douche-y. If I am on the verge of starvation, I'm not going to let myself die just because the guy selling me a loaf of bread said something off-color some number of years ago. That's just asinine. Not to compare video games to food, obviously - I was just using an extreme example to try to help underscore my point. Don't deny yourself pleasure (especially when it comes to something as trivial as a video game) just because you feel like you're betraying your beliefs. Suffering, in a broad sense, increases wisdom - but too much suffering is almost worse than none at all. Perhaps suffering is not the right word, and maybe "flagellation" is. Either way, I doubt he's gonna spend my $20 on a warhead that destroys all gays or whatever the hell opinion of his that people are so upset about.

It was in that moment that I chose to truly embrace Production. You must do the work to achieve understanding and enlightenment.... or insanity. I haven't really figured out which yet. As a player in the top 50 for playtime on steam(over 7K hours), I will never understand people who just build a base using templates. To me that seems to completely defeat the purpose of the game. I am a big fan of calculators, YAFC is the only reason I was able to complete the full pyanodon pack in only 3.5K hours.

So... Hum... The whole train thing... It's an understatement. I lost hundreds of hours in editor mode designing train intersections. I was DREAMING train signals, as Doshington prpphezised in his Seablock playthrough. I am also a menace when it comes to combinators. I am the engineer.

As funny as video is, I would advise against giving new players "optimal" ratios and designs. This can very quickly make the game boring, and player burnt out. It happened to me, when I was just plapping down blueprints I found online and building them. Thankfully, with some spaghetti and overhaul mods you can once again experiences figuring out stuff from nothing.
